Exercises

The following are intended as supplements to the materials given by the teacher and a method book which should always be used early on. The following exercises are intended to help a beginner flute player achieve a good tone quality by learning to focus the air and switch octaves effortlessly. It is highly recommended to practice switching octaves on the head joint alone before attempting this. It is important to keep a strong sound throughout all of these exercises and focus the air stream so an airy tone is not produced but a very clear and focused sound instead.
